Kujira 5 Years Old is a distinctive Ryukyu Whisky from Okinawa, produced by Masahiro Shuzo, a historic Japanese distillery founded in 1883.
Crafted from rice, an ingredient deeply rooted in the traditions of the Ryukyu Islands, it is matured for over 5 years in virgin white oak casks under Okinawa's subtropical climate. The island's warm temperatures and humidity contribute to its rich, smooth and distinctive character.
The nose reveals inviting aromas of caramel and vanilla, complemented by hints of liquorice, oak and spices. On the palate it is rounded and mellow, with gentle sweetness, woody nuances and an elegant spicy character.
The finish is harmonious and persistent, with lingering notes of vanilla, spice and oak.
An original and approachable Japanese whisky, ideal for discovering the distinctive character of Ryukyu Whisky and the unique spirit of Okinawa.
