The KIKICHOKO is a white cup used for tasting sake. When tasting sake at a production company, one of these white cups with blue rings at the bottom is often served. It is also called "Janome Ochoko" (snake eye-shaped cup). The purpose of these rings was originally to help evaluate the clarity of the sake: the white part also allows checking the color tone of the sake, any streaks. This design has since become a distinctive mark of the sake industry in general.
