DESCRIPTION
The "Teeda" 5 Years Rum is produced at the Helios distillery in Nago City, northern area of Okinawa (Teeda means "sun" in Okinawa). Helios Distillery has always placed great value on environmental conservation, making the best use of Okinawa's natural resources and history to produce authentic and good products.
Tadashi Matsuda founded his rum production company in Okinawa in 1961, responding to the demands of the US military personnel who were on the island at the time.
This delicious rum is handcrafted from a single distillation of sugarcane molasses. The sugarcane is locally grown, planted between February and May, and harvested both mechanically and manually from October to February. It is then aged in American oak barrels (using both new and used rum barrels) for at least 5 years.
Limited edition of 2000 bottles.
