DESCRIPTION
Taruzake means "barrel-aged sake" (taru=barrel, zake=sake). This sake, in fact, spends several days in a cedar barrel, which gives it aromas of wood and smoke. It is produced with Sasanishiki rice from Yamagata Prefecture which has a pleasantly savory taste, but surrounded by a great sweetness. The refinement in barrels gives it a golden color and a pleasant woody and fragrant aftertaste.
FOOD PAIRING
The slightly smoky taste makes it suitable for accompanying tasty dishes, such as grilled eel with teriyaki sauce or grilled meat. Also excellent to accompany desserts or mature cheeses.
