DESCRIPTION
Yuzu is a type of citrus fruit native to Japan, particularly found in the southern islands. The producer uses fruits specifically from Koichi, which is located in the south-central part of Japan. This choice is due to the fact that the best yuzu grow here. For the production of each bottle, between 15 and 20 yuzu are used, which are put into maceration.
The peculiarity of this yuzushu is the very strong flavor of the peel, which we find intact in this light liqueur. In fact qWhen the yuzu is ripe, inside it is partly dry. The aroma mostly comes from the peel. A final addition of fresh juice reduces the alcohol content to 8%.
Aroma of mandarin, grapefruit, lemon, orange... all together mix to give a super citrus aroma!!! Usually recommended cold as an aperitif or after a meal, it can also be used to create hot drinks for winter. Additionally, it can be used in cooking (the sauce Ponzu can also be made at home with: soy sauce and yuzu, or him/her e yuzu).
We like it because it's ppleasant, but not sweet! It doesn't dry the mouth, but invites another sip! It is great also for cocktails! Absolutely a must-try YUZU GIN TONIC: 30 ml Kodakara Yuzu, 50 ml Gin, 150 ml tonic water. Serve in a glass filled with ice.
CURIOSITY'
To do the fruit vinegar (fruit-flavored sake) You can start with a base of sake and add the peel or fruit part, or start with a distilled base (in this case it will have a more characterful aspect).
