In collaboration with Tim Mälzer, kai has developed a special Junior kitchen knife dedicated to children aged 6 and over who want to help in the kitchen in complete safety. Children intuitively mimic cutting operations using the knife as if it were a saw. For this reason, the steel blade of the Junior kitchen knife has been made with a slightly wavy edge that minimizes the effort required to practice the cut and the risk of the blade slipping. To further reduce the risk of accidents, the blade tip is blunt. The handle in non-slip and ergonomic synthetic material allows an easy and safe grip even for the hands of the little ones. For maximum protection, the set includes a flexible finger guard. Tim Mälzer's Junior kitchen knife was awarded the reddot Design Award in 2012.
